Batman: Arkham City Info

Anyone who has played Rocksteady’s game Batman: Arkham Asylum and had a blast with it is probably psyched for the new game being created by them called Batman: Arkham City.  This game takes place one year after the first game and Quincy Sharp, the guy who was in charge of arkham asylum in the first game becomes mayor of Gotham and he takes all the prisoners that were in the asylum and he puts them in a new asylum he created in the slums of Gotham.  The only rule he has for them is to not escape.  So now Joker and Two-Face are against each other in a gang war and Batman is  in the middle of it.

These images here were shown at the website ign and they show a lot of new features being added into Arkham City.  One feature is that new gadgets will be in the game and the old  gadgets you had in Arkham Asylum will be the gadgets you start out with in the beginning of this game, and there will be more upgrades for them.    Three new gagdets that will be in Batman’s arsenal are a batclaw that can grab items that are far away, a broadcast analyzer that tracks transmissions and a smoke bomb in order to escape from yoour enemies if you are caught or if you want to blind them while in the middle of combat.  Another gadget of Batman’s that is returning is his detective mode.  They seemed to have changed the graphics a bit when you go into detective mode but it doesn’t seem to have any new features.

In Arkham City, the combat system has been improved.  Batman can now counterattack two people at the same time, he can counter a projectile that is aimed at him,  and he can use more of his gadgets during battle.  One example is that Batman can spray explosive gel on an enemies face.  Now that the setting takes place in Gotham, Batman can now travel in different ways, such as he can climb on top of wires.

There are a few characters that will return in Arkham City.  Oracle will return and so will Joker and his girlfriend Harley Quinn.  As for new characters, Mr. Freeze will appear in this game and so wil Talia Al Ghul.  Two-Face was announced .  Catwoman was announced and she is Batman’s enemy and love interest so she will play an important role in the game.  This game is scheduled to come out fall 2010 so until then, stay tuned more info on this game.

Halo Reach Armor Customization

Anyone who has played Bungie’s Halo: Reach beta has seen what the armor customizations look like. Bungie allowed you to customize up to four pieces: The chest, the helmet, and the two shoulders.  Now Bungie has pushed the customizaton even further by  adding new parts to customize.  By looking at these images at ign you can see that Bungie has added some more customization options.

If you look at the picture of a Spartan above you can notice that Bungie is bringing back the EOD helmet from Halo 3.  This means that Bungie will be bringing back old favorites from Halo 3.   In the picture it shows that you can now customize your wrist.   If  you look at the EOD spartan above, you will notice some sort of electronic device on his wrist.  Right under the wrist option is the utility customization.  You could probably add stuff to your utility.  Under utility is the visor color.

If you look at the picture you can see that Bungie brought back the ODST helmet from Halo 3 and now you can change the colors of the visor.  In the picture there is only blue, silver, and the default color but there will most likely be more colors to choose from.

Another customizable option is the armor effect.  Basically, it is the kind of special effects you want your armor to have, kind of like the flaming helmet in the picture below.  They have more effects such as having flies around you or electricity surrounding your body.  And lastly but certainly not least, Bungie has given us the option to pick our Spartan’s Firefight voice.  You can choose to put Sgt. Johnson’s voice, Cortanas, or Master Chief. There will probably be more voices to choose from but we will find out when September comes.  To get an in depth look at the armors and customization options click on the link below to take a look at the ign video for the Halo: Reach armors.
